Ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, gives opening statements outlining the current investigation of Russian actions aimed at influencing the outcome of the 2016 presidential election in Donald Trump’s favor.
Beginning at 5:56, Schiff offers an overview of currently known actions by members and affiliates of the Trump campaign during the course of the election which have raised suspicions of collusion and involvement with the Russian “active measures” campaign to influence the outcome of the election.

Following Schiff’s opening statement, NSA Director Mike Rogers makes a statement outlining the ever-increasing intensity of cyberattacks against U.S. systems, value of NSA collaboration with the FBI, and importance of rigorous analysis of data to protect against biased conclusions.
Director of the FBI James Comey then offers his own opening statements, during which he publicly confirms for the first time that the FBI is investigating Russian efforts to interfere in the election, whether or not collusion by Trump campaign associates occured, and if any crimes were commited. He also speaks to the leaks which have marked the investigation so far.
